I have been neglecting Annika on this blog and with my camera lately. Anni turned 18 months old yesterday, and I realized that while my little girl has been growing up I have been doing a terrible job of documenting it. For her first year of life I kept her baby calendar and pretty faithfully recorded all of her milestones, her quirks, her sleeping (or lack of it), and the things she did that made me smile. Now she seems to be growing up twice as fast and makes me laugh and smile more than twice as much and I have done nothing to keep track of it. Sooooo… I am starting a journal for her so I can record the things that make me smile, laugh, and sometimes cry. And, I am publicly promising to take more pictures of her and share them more often. Feel free to leave me berating comments when I fail to keep up with this.
In keeping with my new resolution, here is a post all about Annika. Annika LOVES Winnie-the-Pooh. I try not to let her watch TV too much, but she begs and pleads until she ends up watching at least a little bit of “Pooh” almost every day. She also loves to read her Pooh books (including one she almost stole from a used book store – sneaky girl.) She insists on taking Pooh to bed with her every night and when she wakes up in the morning Pooh comes out with her. It is nice to have a friend, especially when it is a silly old bear.
Today Annika decided to read to Pooh. She spent a long time getting him situated on her lap, and then held his paw so that he could turn the pages. She was careful to point out the pictures to him and tell him about the “owl” and the “dog” (a fox) she saw in the book. She will be a good big sister.
