Sisters

When I found out I was pregnant with twins, I had lots of other mothers of twins tell me how wonderful it was, how there is something special about the relationship between your twins. I was scared to death and I figured they were just saying that to help me feel better. Also, I have great relationships with my siblings, so I thought “sure, all siblings have a special bond. I don’t need to have two at one time for that.” I am beginning to understand what those other Moms were talking about. My girls love each other, and it is a different relationship than with Annika. (Although all three do get along fantastically, and I’ll have to blog about that later.)

They babble to each other, they laugh at each other, and they hold hands while they are together. One time I tried to put Elise to bed before Lucy, and she cried and cried until I brought Lucy to bed too. I think part of the reason they are so easy is that they have each other. Sometimes when they are falling asleep, they play with each other’s hands as they drift off.  I’ve been meaning to take pictures of it for a while, but when I got my camera out the other day, I thought a video would be more fun. I love having twins. I honestly wasn’t sure that I would. I can’t picture my life without two babies, these two in particular.

Also, I love they they suck their thumbs (or fingers, in Lucy’s case). I know, it may develop into a horrible habit and they may have crooked teeth and maybe they’ll still be sucking their thumbs when they go to college, but for now they sleep 12+ hours at night and I don’t have to endanger the whole family by trying to reach back and hand them binkies in the car. Plus, it’s so dang cute.

Cristine - Oh Erica… I want to cry happy and sad tears. Happy because they are so precious and so cute and I love them so much even though I have never met them. Sad tears because I wish I was there to see them, hold them, and love them. Thanks for the video… loved seeing them in action! :)

MOM - So SWEET!

McKenzie - OH MY GOSH!! I LOVE the video. It is so sweet. It kind of makes me wish Kenna were a twin. How sweet that they have each other!

Uma - How precious! It’s so incredibly cute and reassuring how they react to one another. BTW, Chase is a thumb sucker and her teeth are beginning to turn a bit, but at least this set will go away sometimes before I have to worry about braces (and you can’t beat 12+ hours of sleep a night!).

Erin - That was so cute Erica. They are so sweet. I can’t even imagine twins…

augustina - Thanks for posting the video! I’m grinning from ear to ear!

Britteny Grow - Oh how I want to meet those babies I hate not living by you any more. We miss you terribly all that time and videos like this just make is worse. They are just so cute and sweet. Love the video and pictures. So did Lexi all 10 times (then I cut her off). She also had to watch the sledding video and both birthday videos again about 10 times each. She loves your home videos!!!

Emily - That is the cutest thing ever.

Janice - Love it! They are so cute together!

Becky - They are each other’s loveys.

Monica - That is soooo sweet. I am baised to the thumb sucking but I think it’s adorable too! :) They are beautiful.
