TV Junkie

Annika watches far more TV than I think she should. She begs for movies from the moment she wakes up until she finally falls asleep. She could watch three movies in a row, and still cry when I won’t let her watch a fourth. (Ok, the only time she watched three movies in a row was on our drive to France, and she still cried when we turned it off.) I really do try hard to limit how much she watches. The last couple of days the TV has been off limits in our house, because there is nothing like losing TV privileges to motivate Annika. However, our neighbors across the street do not seem to be as concerned about their TV time. They have a huge television prominently displayed and it is pretty much constantly playing. Annika has discovered that if she stands on her slide, she can watch the neighbor’s TV, even when I won’t let her turn ours on. So, this is how I found Annika for a good 30 minutes or so today. The lack of sound didn’t even seem to phase her. This was my photo of the day and it made me laugh, so I thought I would share.

Cristine - That is TOO funny!!!! Anni looks so big, too! I forgot that you were doing the picture a day… that will be awesome to see one day!

Taniel - bahaha, that is hilarious. Oh Annika, I secretly love watching TV too–we should be friends.

Britteny Grow - That is so funny. TV and juice we off limits for Lexi the other day and she was looking to get them any way she could. At one point she brought me the remote and told me that I wanted to watch one of my shows. I am pretty sure if I had sat down and watched the history channel she would have watched it with me. She also kept telling me that I was thirsty and wanted some juice. She was trying to live vicariously(?I Can’t spell) through me.

Monica - That is HILARIOUS!!!!!!! What a smart little girl. PLEASE can you guys come to GA to play!!?? :)

MOM - oh, Annika! We love you! You are a smart little girl!

tara - We too have a challenge with TV in our house. Ashley is the same. So how have you been able to find a balance? We are still working on it. She is allowed one show after her breakfast in the morning. By one show, I mean one thirty minute show. But she still wants more. Sigh. Sometimes it is tempting to give in, just for peace and quiet!
