It’s been almost a month since I posted here. I didn’t realize that it had been so long, and although I could give you a string of excuses, none of them are really good enough to justify an absence of a whole month. The last couple of weeks, in particular, have been eventful. We waited around for a couple of days in Spangdahlem and then caught a flight on a C-17 to Washington. Brad flew with us and informed me that hanging out in a small airport with three small children for two days really made for a very enjoyable and relaxing weekend. Either work is really bad, or he is a really nice guy. Probably both. We spent the night in a hotel in Seattle and the next afternoon Brad flew back to Germany so he could be back at work on Monday. Thank you, Brad!
We have spent the last two weeks at my parent’s house, and it has been wonderful. Annika is missing her Daddy and the bakery, but is enjoying many things that we don’t get to experience in Germany. She can go in and out as she pleases, and has been happy to spend hours on the “tramp-o-bean” (trampoline) and in the “hot swimming cool” (the hot tub). All three of my girls are getting spoiled by their Oma and Opa, and they are in love with Uncle Nate. We’ve gone on long walks, we’ve watched Nathan play tennis, we went to two farmer’s markets, and yesterday we took Annika to the beach. She jumped and splashed in the waves until she was soaked. The weather has been beautiful, and if Brad were here I would be completely happy.
Today we took Annika and the babies to a “castle park.” We had a great time, and these are the only pictures of the trip I have edited so far, so they are the ones you get to see first. (You can see a few more pictures of our trip on my Mom’s blog.)
