We’ve got our party hats on here today! Today is my Mom’s birthday. We’re separated by an ocean and a continent, but we all love Oma, so we’re celebrating her big day. Not only is she a great Mom and a wonderful Grandma, but she’s one of my very best friends. I hope that someday I’ll be as unselfish as she is. I’m not sure that I’ll ever be as much fun. (Seriously… she plays Barbies with Annika over skype. I won’t play Barbies with Annika in person.) If I were there I would make something delicious for dinner and something even better for dessert. Instead, we’ll eat gelato and think of you, Mom. We hope you have a great day, because you deserve it! (And I hope that Opa is getting you a pinata, because Annika is convinced that you need one…)
Oma - Ohhhhh, this was the first thing I saw when I got up today. Thank you girls!! I was wishing I could pull out a birthday hat–thanks for thinking of me! It made my day, honestly. And I told Opa to pick up a piniata:)
Mary Anne - I’m totally not convinced that you’re not as fun as your mom…look at those party hats! And the signs. What a fun idea. I hope one day that Sadie will like me, the way you say you and your mom are friends. I just don’t see it at the moment! I definitely need to kick up the fun factor if I expect her to want to hang out with me by choice.

Britteny - The we love you picture is so dang cute. I can think of no better gift for an Oma, that is such a cute picture of her grandbabies. Love it. Happy birthday to your mom. I have only met her a few times but I can tell that she is great. Besides she raised you so she has to be pretty amazing to raise such a great daughter.
