Genevieve is my good friend, and when she told me that her whole family was going to be together during her husband’s leave from Afghanistan I jumped at the chance to photograph them. I was about to leave for our trip to Switzerland, and the light was fading fast, so the session was a little bit rushed, but I think it worked out alright. I can’t say enough what a wonderful time I had with Genevieve’s family. They were so much fun, very well behaved, and up for anything. They seemed genuinely happy to be together. Thank you, Genevieve, for letting me meet your family and spend the evening with them. These are just some of the shots I got, but I thought you might be anxious to see what I am working on.

It’s raining outside, my girls are sleeping, and I am working hard to catch up on my editing. I have a long ways yet to go. However, I did get these done, and I am excited to share them with you. You may remember the littlest one from this session in the spring. It was great meeting the whole family, and I decided that Finn is a lucky boy. He’s got great older brothers and I am sure he is always entertained. I’ve had quite a few sessions with boys lately, which has been fun. We are so overwhelmed with glitter and pink and princesses and fairies in our house; boys are a nice change of pace.

I’ve been sitting still in my cold house long enough that my nose and toes are now cold. I think I’ll go make a big pot of soup. Maybe some brownies. Cold, rainy days seem to justify extra desserts.

Emily and John

I am a little late getting this sneak peek out. So sorry about that! I had a wonderful time with Emily and John. They were up for anything, and so we went all over the place. Emily loves to read, so we decided to incorporate some books into their shoot. John was a good sport to play along there too; it turns out he doesn’t love reading as much as Emily does. Thanks again for a wonderful evening. I’ll send you a link to your full gallery as soon as I can.

Villegas Sneak Peek

Thank goodness I have flexible, easy going clients, or this session could have really been a bust! To start with, we had to reschedule a couple of times, mostly due to bad weather. Winter is well on its way, and it has been raining and raining and raining here in Baumholder. We finally got a day where it wasn’t raining, but it was wet and foggy. I did my homework, and checked out the location the morning before the shoot, so I figured we were good to go. We parked, and got some great pictures. The problem came when we went back to the cars so we could drive to a different location. I had not taken into account how wet and muddy the grass was, and when we tried to drive back up the little hill we had parked on, we were stuck. With some direction from Juan, I was able to get enough momentum to get my car up the hill, but their car just kept spinning in the wet grass. Luckily, a very nice German man stopped his van and helped the Villegas’ push their car free. Their car was plastered from fender to bumper in mud. I really should have taken a picture, but I was so embarrassed I didn’t even think of it. I was very careful about where we parked the second time around and the remainder of our session was great. Thanks guys, for being so patient and understanding, and for helping me get my car unstuck. I really enjoyed getting to know you and I hope you love your pictures.

Rona wasn’t feeling very good during this shoot, but she was a great sport anyway. I wish that I looked this beautiful when I was sick. In fact, I wish I looked this beautiful when I wasn’t sick!
